23 Great Bible Verses for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day has been around since the early 1900’s. Evangelicals alike have maintained the highest regard for women and that of motherhood. However, both sides remain in debate over the combination of motherhood and career pursuits. Ana M. Jarvis was a daughter of as Pastor that taught in a Methodist School in Grafton, West Virginia. Upon her mother’s passing in 1905, a memorial was arranged for Mrs. Jarvis whom was considered to be a very influential woman in the church. 

Each year that followed, a special service was held in remembrance of her death. This was later revered as a Mother’s Day service where white carnations were supplied by the church. Ana Jarvis, proceeded forward with this initiative writing thousands of letters to promote a national Mother’s Day. After 6 years, a proclamation was finally made by US President Woodrow Wilson establishing the observance of Mother’s Day on May 8, 1914. Countries worldwide, Christian and non-Christian, are seen celebrating Mother’s Day each year.
