Perfume and aromatherapy go hand in hand in their emphasis on olfaction and the therapeutic power of scents. For those who live (or desire to live) a holistic lifestyle with integrative medicine, aromatherapy is a popular way to heal your body and mind, from improving your mood, to increasing mental alertness, to relieving stress, anxiety, and pain.

Many people buy their essential oils from Tijon for their favorite aromatherapy blends. You can add your oil blends to a warm bath or diffuse them in your home with a reed diffuser, which we also sell in the shop. You can even mix your oil blends with a carrier oil like coconut oil and apply directly to certain pulse points. There are countless recipes out there, but here are our favorite, easy combinations.

To relax… lavender is a great all-purpose oil and known to be very soothing.

  • lavender and sweet orange
  • lavender and chamomile
  • lavender and vanilla 

To focus… rosemary promotes alertness and stimulates memory.

  • rosemary, lemon, grapefruit 
  • rosemary and bergamot
  • rosemary and eucalyptus

To cleanse... lemon, lime, citrus cilantro

To unwind… neroli, patchouli, ylang ylang

For headaches… peppermint or frankincense 

For tired muscles… sage, basil, cajeput

For smelly feet… geranium and tea tree

For hangovers… juniper, cedarwood, grapefruit, lavender, carrot, fennel
